of a Greek temple usually would have no windows: the only daylight in this chamber would come through the door. Typically, this door would face East, so that light the rising sun would stike the cult statue, which usually would be placed against the rear wall. Scholars disagree whether the Parthenon had windows or not. If the cella of the Parthenon did indeed have windows, it's thought that they were on either side of the main door.
The Parthenon was not unusual in having a double-decker arrangement of doric columns running down either side of its cella. But the columns extended behind the huge statue of Athena is unusual.
