Richard McGovern

Rich McGovern received his BA from Fordham University and his MA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, all in Mathematics. He had been on the faculty of the University of Kansas, Florida Institute of Technology and Bard College before coming to Marist. Rich has published work in Functional Analysis, Topology, and Statistical Mechanics. In recent years, his research interests have centered on Dynamical Systems and Chaos. He is the local coordinator for the Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference and he is especially interested in encouraging undergraduate research experiences. His non- mathematical interests include windsurfing and Tai Chi.
