Title:

Hunting Odd Perfect Numbers

Abstract:

The notion of a perfect number was known to the ancients. In this talk I will describe how one might restrict the kind of number that might qualify as an odd perfect number. We can know a lot about such integers without knowing a single example. Or are there any?

This talk will be accessible to undergraduate mathematics majors.
