Subgroup Containment Properties
Given a finite group G and a subgroup H of G, the commutator (derived) subgroup H' of H is always contained in the commutator subgroup G' of G ( H' <= G' ). Are there other well-defined characteristic subgroups of a finite group that also satisfy this condition? In this talk, finite groups will be investigated that satisfy the property that P(H) <= P(G) for all H <= G, where P is a well-defined characteristic subgroup of a group.
