Title:

Mathematical Magic

Abstract:

Several magic tricks based on mathematical principles will be performed. Students will learn how to do the tricks themselves and examine why the tricks work, learning some mathematics in the process. The tricks and mathematics involved will be adjusted to the level of the audience, and are based on arithmetic, algebra, number bases, and Fibonacci numbers.

Audience:

Dr. Greenwell is speaking at the invitation of the Marist College Math Club. His talk will be accessible to undergraduates.
