Paradoxes of Prediction and Cooperation: Newcomb's Problem
and the Prisoner's Dilemma
Fascinating and perplexing, paradoxes challenge our most cherished beliefs. Left unresolved, these paradoxes pose a serious threat to the very foundations of our social, moral and political philosophies. Two intriguing paradoxes in game theory will be discussed, Newcomb's Problem and the Prisoner's Dilemma. Together we will attempt to resolve these paradoxes and bring peace to the world...and to ourselves.
