Title:

An Introduction to Abstract Nonsense

Abstract:

This talk is aimed at undergraduate students interested in mathematics and its purpose is to introduce students to another level of abstraction in mathematics. The concepts of category and functor are introduced with an emphasis on examples. Important problems in mathematics such as the isomorphism problem, the classification problem, invariants and complete invariants are discussed in this setting.
