Title:

Voronoi Nets, Part I

Abstract:

Voronoi diagrams are a used in many fields such as numerical analysis, geometric modeling, and geographic information systems.  This talk will introduce Voronoi diagrams first from the classical perspective, including a discussion of their rich set of properties.  These properties lead to a number of questions that cannot be answered under the classical perspective.  A new definition of the Voronoi Diagram will be presented along with a related structure, the Voronoi Net.

This talk is suitable for upper level mathematics majors and higher.
