Title:

On Convex Sets and Complex Numbers

Abstract:

When dealing with real numbers, convex sets have various interesting and useful properties. In this talk we will define "polynomially convex" sets which have similar nice properties relative to the complex numbers. We will describe interesting results about the structure of some of these polynomially convex sets.

Audience:

This talk will be aimed at the level of undergraduates who have had at least some exposure to the theory of complex variables.
