The Mathematics Department offers required upper division mathematics courses annually and most upper division elective courses biennially. Students majoring in mathematics at Marist will meet with their advisors on a regular basis to ensure that they complete all required courses in either their junior or senior year.
Math majors pursuing certification in adolescence education are also required to complete EDUC 424 Methods of Teaching Mathematics in Secondary Schools, EDUC 211 Participation/Observation in the Secondary Schools, EDUC 415 Student Teaching in the Secondary Schools, and MATH 450 Fundamental Concepts of Geometry.
In the table below are all of the scheduled offerings of these courses for the next several semesters. Students majoring in mathematics at Marist will meet with their advisors on a regular basis to ensure that they complete all required courses in either their junior or senior year. Courses designated "(late)" will be offered in the late afternoon to accommodate students who may need to take a required math course during their student teaching semester.
Note: In addition to the courses listed below, Special Topics or other seldom-offered catalog courses may be offered, especially in a semester with few other upper level courses.
