     D.C. Heath and Co.,1946.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Two Audio Cassettes - 90 Minutes 
Two 3.5" Computer Disks (high density. Please have 
formatted prior to class)


These materials will be used to record dialogues and interactive computer
excercies.


COURSES OBJECTIVES: Essentially this is a course that emphasizes the
development of the four skills: oral/aural(i.e. conversational
and listening skills), reading, and writing. Focus is on
acquiring the ability to fluently converse in standard/modern
Russian. A second important objective is to acquire writing
skills of moderate difficulty. The course is considered a
one - year requirement to gain the above-mentioned skills.
In other words, students are required/encouraged to take both
Advanced Russian I and II.

             To achieve these objectives, extensive use is made
of classroom conversations, audio visual materials(such as
cassette recordings, movies, and computer assisted
instruction in a computer lab setting, etc.)A weekly
composition, to develop writing skills, will be required.
