| This slide (45X high power) shows an ideal section of a Wright's stained blood smear to choose for performing a differential cell count. Cells are touching but evenly spaced and not overlapping. Differential blood cell counts should be performed using the oil immersion lens (1000X) so that cells are readily recognizable and nuclear and cytplasmic abnormalities can be identified. |
