| This slide shows a variety of normal monocytes. Monocytes are the largest normally found white blood cells. They have a large, lacy nucleus with characteristic folding. The nucleus can vary considerably in shape. The cytoplasm is abundant and bluish-gray in color with a ground-glass appearance. Vacuoles can frequently be seen in the cytoplasm. |
