| This slide represents a drawing (right) and photograph (left) of normal red cell morphology. A normal red cell is a non-nucleated biconcave disc about 6.8-7.2 micrometers in diameter. The thinner center appears as a pale center under the microscope. The hemoglobin contained in the red cell stains pink with Wright’s stain. |
