| This slide shows a segmented neutrophil, also known as a polymorphonuclear cell. It is the most abundant white cell found in normal adult blood (40-75% of total white cells). The nucleus has 3 to 5 segments connected by fine filaments and the cytoplasm contains fine lilac granules. |
