ST: U.S WOMEN'S HISTORY SURVEY
| This course traces the various experiences of women in the U.S. from the colonial period to the present. Throughout the semester we will analyze the impact that gender, class, race, and ethnicity have made in shaping the lives, opportunities, perspectives, and contributions of Americans in our country's past. Specifically, we will explore women's historical exclusion from the arenas of public power and their struggle for inclusion. We will also examine differences among women that stem from race, age, region, and class. We will utilize both primary and secondary sources to uncover this rich history. |
